PSHE

At St Christopher’s Primary School we believe PSHE underpins the entire curriculum, it forms part of our core ethos—combining citizenship with personal well-being, promoting fundamental British Values, and shaping our assemblies, staff-pupil relationships, and day-to-day school community interactions.

Our PSHE Curriculum:

  • Structured Progression: Across the whole school, from EYFS through to Year 6, we use the Cambridgeshire Primary Personal Development Programme (PPDP) framework. This ensures a progressive model of skills and knowledge that supports children's academic success, personal safety, positive behaviour, and overall well-being.
  • Relationships and Health Education: Integrated within our PSHE framework is our age-appropriate Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) curriculum. Pupils learn what positive friendships and healthy family dynamics look like, how to resolve conflicts, and how our bodies and emotions change as we grow—including puberty and growing up in Key Stage 2.
  • Whole-School Wellbeing: Our comprehensive approach equips children with the social skills, emotional resilience, and practical understanding needed to navigate the modern world, make informed choices, and thrive both now and in the future.
